Brian and Heather met about 5 years ago through their best friend Maria. They were both seeing other people at the time but Maria had other plans. Brian eventually became a regular to Heather and Maria's "girls night out" at the local tavern. Through karaoke, Brian was able to break through the hard exterior of his future wife to be. It was when Heather gave Brian holiday cookies and wool socks for Christmas, he knew he was in. Years later, Brian found out that they were "extra cookies" and he was just lucky enough to be around to recieve them. Little did they know, Maria was working her magic and convinced Heather to give those cookies to Brian. When Brian realized that he and Heather were both single, he used modern technology to text her a dinner invite. She accepted and they had a meal at Rafferties in Latham where they realized how much they had in common. It wasn't too long after that, Brian found himself installing closet organizers and adding an extra space in the driveway. By then he knew he found someone special because he found himself wanting to turn his house into a home. After almost four years of dating, Brian found himself handing a credit card over to a man that convinced him that carat, cut, color and clarity are very important if he wants to trick Heather into putting up with him for the rest of her life. So Brian put the ring on a plastic wishbone and hid it in his pocket. During Thanksgiving with both of their families and friends there, Brian convinced Heather and the guests to play a game where every couple made a wish and broke a plastic wishbone. Heather rolled her eyes and went along with his little game, none the wiser that she was about to answer a very big question. When she held up the wishbone, Brian stated "I have one thats a little nicer" and pulled the ring out of his pocket and took a knee. Although it was hard to understand through the crying and sobbing, Heather said "YES".

After much thought, we decided to do a winter wedding. When we chose a weekend in December, we realized the date would be 12/13/14. We love this time of year and look forward to decorating our home and sharing time with family and friends. Even when we couldn't accomodate a Christmas tree in the house, we erected a 13' fur outside and decorated it with ornaments and enough lights that planes almost landed on our house. When we saw the Desmond Hotel decorated for the Christmas season, we knew we had to have our wedding there. It's the perfect setting to say "I do" and we look forward to celebrating such an important day with family and friends.

We are very excited for our honeymoon, especially since we haven't vacationed much. We chose Ashville, NC and Nashville, TN because we didn't want the typical island resort honeymoon. On one of our vacations, we stayed at the Omni hotel in Dallas, TX and loved the southern hospitality and the hotel chain. Ashville will give us the chance to relax at their resort and spa while Nashville will provide plenty of antique shopping, night life and culture. We can't wait to spend this time together as newly weds and we thank you for helping us make it possible.
