August 18, 2005
Ryan and I first met when I was a senior in high school through mutual friends. Our friendship blossomed over the next year and we made it official on August 18, 2005 on my first day of nursing school. This date marks the beginning of our life journey together and honestly, I cannot imagine my life without him by my side. We have grown up together and life has challenged us more times than we would like to remember, but it has also taught us to appreciate each other and cherish all the joyous moments we have spent together.

For a man who does not plan anything and cannot keep a secret to save his life, Ryan pulled off the most perfect proposal I could ever imagine. Not only did he ask permission from my father, but he also included my mother and his aunt in designing the ring! On Christmas morning, I opened a bright red box finding a heart shaped ornament engraved with “Will you marry me?”
